Build a Snowman

I love arts and crafts. With winter approaching I wanted to create a cute bulletin board display but at the same time not "waste" instructional time. I came up with this super fun snowman. Kids get different snowman's parts and have to solve the problems on each part. Matching answers mean those parts belong to one snowman.

This one has parts whose answer is 1,035.

There are 4 possible snowmen to build. I like to do this activity in groups of four. Each group gets all the parts of the snowman and they have to solve and sort to build their snowman.

This snowman craftivity is perfect for 3rd through 5th grade. It includes skills such as addition, subtraction, and 2 digit multiplication. You can get it here

If you teach the younger grades, I created one for the little ones too. Check this one out

I added some writing paper to incorporate a few sentences about their snowman. Decorate with cotton balls to make some snow and there you have it - a great display for your winter bulletin board.

Skills included: addition of single digit numbers, subtraction, ten frames.

Perfect for grades K and 1

You can get this "Build a Snowman" craftivity here

Do you do craftivities in your classroom? What are some craftivities your kids have enjoyed?

Leave me a comment below. I would love to hear from you :)
