Happy New Year 2016!

I can't believe 2016 is almost here! I am enjoying the Holiday Break as much as I can but the teacher in me cannot stay idle for too long. I am already thinking about what to do with some of the kiddos once school opens January 4th.

We all know how the kids come back after the break. Tired, hyper, and yes unmotivated. Why not try to do some fun activities to get the juices flowing and at the same time create some pretty cute classroom displays?

Here are some fun ideas:

1) Make a crown and list their New Year's Resolution

Easy enough for the little ones to make and cut. No prep needed. Simply
print, color, and cut.

The crown extension has a line for the little cuties to write their New Year's Resolution. Simply cut and staple or glue to the crown adjusting the size as needed.
You can print it on card stock but it is really not necessary. I did this one on regular printer paper and it has held up nicely. My four year old wears it around the house and it has not suffered any damage....YET!

2) Make a Flip Book. It sounds complicated but it is really not. The pages are already set up to stack up perfectly. Simply print, cut, and staple.

I added a page topper for extra cuteness. Wouldn't this look so adorable on a bulletin board? There are 4 choices of page toppers: 2 for boys and 2 for girls.

The book has 4 pages: a cover and 4 sections for students to fill in.

They also get to color. What kid doesn't like to color? Assembly is simple. Cut along the dashed line and staple along the top.

Here is the cover in color. I have provided it in line art for students to color and to save you ink of course. Seriously the cost of ink is beyond crazy!

Here are some of the pages:

What are your plans for the first of week of school after the break? Leave me a comment below. I would love to hear from you.
